Studio and Inspiration

It can be messy at times, even chaotic, but my studio is my my own little creative world where I can steal myself away from it all and live in the color and movement of brushstrokes.

It may start with an idea, a color or a moment in time… always with the infusion of light…light that sustains and nurtures. Forever. Light is a constant in my work, and capturing that is a challenge because it continuously changes, and changes the objects that it illuminates. The play between shadow and light, darkness and illumination, is what I find so captivating and moving.

I try to capture that whether it be playing with the look and feel of dappled light and a softer focus, or whether it’s through more abstract shapes and contrasting colors. It is a challenge I greatly enjoy, and one I hope you do too!
